CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Geo Stelar
Character Canon: MegaMan Star Force

History: hallelujah the wiki's actually decent

AU History: Geo Stelar was born in Union to a waitress and a researcher. His parents were very loving and he lived a comfortable, happy life. ... Or, at least he did until he was seven. When Geo was seven years old, his father disappeared into the wilderness. Geo's mother was heartbroken, but nobody was so upset as Geo himself. The once bright, cheerful child withdrew into himself and became a shut-in. His mother was concerned, but didn't force Geo to do anything he didn't want to do, so this persisted for three years.

... Geo's mother still isn't forcing him to do anything, but one could definitely interpret her encouraging her son to embrace the life of a trainer as an effort to try and get her son out of the house.

Canon Personality: The Geo we see at the start of canon is the result of losing his father at a very young age. He’s a shut-in at the tender age of ten, refusing to even go to school. He uses a NetNavi for education, tinkers with gadgets, and generally only leaves the house to visit Vista Point, the place where he has a great view of the night sky, perfect for stargazing--an activity that Geo says lets him feel closer to his absent father. He doesn’t care for forming bonds or making friends--as far as he’s concerned, people will just inevitably disappear anyway, why should he set himself up for the pain he’ll feel when that happens? Geo is absolutely content in the little routine he has set for himself at the beginning of the game.

… Which, really, is exactly why it can’t last long.

The minute the EM being (an alien made up of electromagnetic waves) Omega-Xis (who will be referred to as Mega for the rest of the app) comes crashing into Geo’s life, Geo finds that he just isn’t allowed to return to his normal habits. Mega has apparently met Geo’s father, and he strikes a deal with the kid--Geo allows Mega to hang out in his Transer, and Mega will tell Geo about his father… when the alien feels like it. Geo isn’t necessarily a pushover, but the poor kid misses his dad, so of course he’d accept that deal. Mega holds it over his head a couple of times when he decides he wants to learn something new about humans. Mega is curious about humans and wants to learn more--Geo’s wishes be damned.

It definitely doesn’t help that Mega brought trouble with him--other EM beings that are after the Andromeda Key in Mega’s possession have also come to earth, and in various bids to obtain the key, regularly put other people in danger. It’s through fighting alongside Mega against these other EM beings who cause trouble in and around Echo Ridge that one can see another side to Geo. Even though he’s solving these problems, he really doesn’t consider himself (and doesn’t want to be considered) a hero. He’d much rather try to talk his way out of a problem than solve it with violence… given the kind of canon this is, though, that works out about as well as one might expect (it doesn’t). Despite this, however, he can’t just stand by when someone’s in danger. If trouble’s happening right in front of him, he’ll resign himself to being the one who solves the problem, because more often than not, he’s the only one who can. Geo is often more willing to fight if it’s to protect someone--and it’s when he does that he truly shines (there’s even a power granted to him during the first game when he’s decided that he’ll fight to protect someone--Luna, in that particular case). The Satellite Admins claim that through Mega, Geo has learned courage.

Once Geo does finally start opening up to other people, he’s about as good as you’d expect someone who pushed everyone away for three years to be. He’s definitely kind, there’s no doubt about that, but he has a little trouble connecting to people. However, he does find easy friendships in the likes of Sonia and Pat (and eventually Luna and Bud). He’s definitely much happier when he has friends, but if something hits him and shatters his faith (Pat’s betrayal, for instance), it hits him hard and he backslides into his old habits. People he considers friends get suddenly pushed away and he withdraws into himself--maybe even ending up worse off than he was at the start of the game. Thankfully, it doesn’t take long for Geo to pull himself back together. … Though the world being in danger probably helped at least slightly with that.

AU Deviation: Well, for starters, the Brave New World version of Geo doesn't have some kind of weird alien hanging out in his Warp Band. That's kind of the key thing here, because without Mega as a catalyst, Geo's back to square one as far as development goes. There's still potential for him to open up to others, but he doesn't have that catalyst yet. Also different is the fact that Geo in Brave New World does have some ambition to eventually search for his father himself--he has yet to learn all the skills he'd need to survive out in the wilderness, but it's that much more accessible than, say, space. Also, while he's still just as opposed to making friends as he is in initial canon, this only applies to humans. He'll gladly form bonds with Pokémon, as he's seen them as the only constant in his life.

Canon Abilities: Geo's primary abilities come from EM Wave Change, a process where an EM Being (Mega in this case) and a human (Geo) merge to become a more powerful EM Being (MegaMan) that can interact with both other EM Beings and ordinary humans. In this form, the Wave Changed human can use Battle Cards (cards that regular humans use to delete viruses) as weapons. These cards have a variety of effects and are a variety of elements and the player can generally mix and match these as they like to customize the battle cards to their particular playstyle. As MegaMan, Geo can also use the Mega Buster (which appears on MegaMan's arm as Mega's head). It charges automatically when it's not in use and automatically rapid-fires when it is.

Over the course of the first Star Force game, MegaMan gets an additional ability granted by the Satellite Admins--a transformation called Star Break. In addition to giving him nifty changes to his armor, it changes the properties of the Mega Buster, adds an element to his attacks, and gives him an additional affect (Super Armor [can't be knocked out of an attack] for Leo, Float Shoes [unaffected by negative panel effects] for Pegasus, and Status Guard [unaffected by status conditions] for Dragon). Unfortunately, if he's slammed with the transformation's elemental weakness, he'll be knocked out of Star Break.

On the more mundane side of things, he tinkers with technology on a regular basis and has a great breadth of knowledge about anything related to space.

Enlightened Abilities: Geo will be a Psychic/Fighting Engineer! In his base form, he'll have weak telekinesis (lower than the general power level of, say, Confusion), the ability to put up weak (breaking if an attack stronger than something like Karate Chop hits it--and definitely breaking if it's hit by Brick Break) and short-lived shields (lasting for up to three seconds tops), and somewhat higher strength and speed than a base human, allowing him to emulate some Fighting-type moves like Arm Thrust, Double Kick, or Mach Punch.

His first evolution will increase his telekinetic power (putting it on par with Confusion), he'll be able to put up stronger shields (they could maybe take up to a Psycho Cut or a Night Slash for them to break) that have a longer duration (about three to five seconds), and his strength and speed will increase, allowing him to emulate Fighting-type moves like Force Palm, Rolling Kick, or Low Sweep. He'll also gain the ability to teleport--but this will be for short distances, no more than about three feet from his current position at the time.

With his final evolution, his telekinetic ability will again grow stronger (this time on par with Psychic), his shields will be at their strongest (being able to take up to an Outrage or a Superpower--however they'll retain their weakness to Brick Break) and last longer (up to ten seconds). His strength and speed will also be at their highest, allowing him to emulate Fighting-type moves such as Sky Uppercut, Cross-Chop, or Jump Kick. His teleportation ability will also improve, allowing him to teleport a maximum of ten feet away.

His enhanced item will be a pendant that increases the power of his Psychic-type abilities by a small amount (like the type-specific held-items)

Starter Pokémon: An Espurr named Maia (starter) and a Purrloin named Saiph (Old City common)

Notes/Special Considerations: Nothing I can immediately think of!

SAMPLES
First-Person:
• What aspects and traits do you respect most in your individual fellow man?
I respect smart people, I guess... And people who aren't pushy.
• What do you look for in the Pokémon with whom you bond?
I don't really look for anything in particular. If they want to come with me, isn't that good enough?
• You are alone and bereft of your Pokémon allies; upon what strengths do you rely on to see yourself safely home?
I'd like to think I'm clever enough to get myself home without putting myself in too much danger...
• What area do you seek to explore? The peaceful forest, in search of new, previously overlooked discoveries; the uncharted caves, in search of the unknown; or the wildest of mountain terrain, in search of danger, adventure, and thrills?
I think I'd like to search the uncharted caves. Discovering something new would be cool.

Third-Person:
• What would you say the role of Pokémon is in your life?
They're... [He pauses, trying to search for the right words.] They're friends, helpers, partners... They've been pretty much the only constant in my life.
• What does the story of the Savior mean to you?
Dad used to tell me that story all the time... The important thing to take away from it is to always respect Pokémon and never take them for granted, I think. At least... that's what Dad always said.
• The gods of old have returned. How would you be judged if you were chosen as a representative of humanity?
... They can find a way better representative than me. I mean... It's not like I've done anything bad, but me? Representing all of humanity? No thanks.
• You plunge into the depths of ruins of an ancient civilization. What is it that you seek from the past? Treasure, technology, wisdom?
... Technology would be kind of cool, especially if it could make life easier.
• When encountering a rare and powerful Pokémon, what is most important? Researching it, bonding with it, or defeating it? Why?
Bonding with it. [It's said without even a second of hesitation.] It kind of gets rid of the need for defeating it... besides, why turn something into a fight if you don't have to? And as far as researching goes... wouldn't it be easier if the Pokémon cooperates? And if you're bonded with it, it'd make that a lot more plausible.
• In your eyes, what is absolutely unforgivable?
[This one takes him a while to answer, and he swallows before he speaks.] ... Hurting someone who cares about you.
